Privacy at StarDocs
No cookies, no fingerprinting, no consent banner
StarDocs doesn't set cookies for analytics or advertising, and doesn't use device fingerprinting to recognize you across visits. Since we don't use cookie-based or persistent-identifier tracking, we don't need a consent banner to tell you about one.
Anonymous product analytics
We use PostHog in cookieless mode to understand how StarDocs is used in aggregate (which tools are popular, whether conversions succeed) without a cookie or any persistent identifier tied to your browser.
Backend reliability and security monitoring
Our servers (Django and Celery, which power the PDF-to-Word and Word-to-PDF conversion tools) log operational data, including IP addresses and error details, through PostHog, so we can debug failures and protect the service from abuse. This is separate from the anonymous analytics above and is kept only as long as needed for security and reliability.
Your uploaded files
When you use a conversion tool, we process your uploaded file solely to perform the conversion you requested. Converted files and their records are automatically deleted within 24 hours.
